Nuggets of Wisdom Every Artist Should Remember
Being an artist is a whirlwind of characteristics and emotions blended into one, seemingly in a way that’s not meant to be understood by the general populace. Being an artist is, oftentimes, mutually exclusive with being a deviant. Because art, especially those that are largely and effectively creative, is essentially subjective and a personal form of expression. Being open to interpretation, art is also open to criticism. Even the most renowned names in the field of art - regardless of form, genre, and style - have not had the world served to them on a golden platter or doted on by the masses right from the get-go. They have to prove themselves - sometimes, endlessly. The phrase, “struggling artist,” therefore can be taken in as many ways as you can.
But as with any aspect of life, no hope is lost. Take cue from these great artists, as they not only left their art behind for us to celebrate, but also invaluable advice that not only applies to life as an artist, but life in general.
